Ahead of the Christmas holidays, the non-governmental organization Gidno implemented a charitable initiative for the children of service members from a classified technological unit. More than 70 children from these families have already received Christmas gifts thanks to the support of international partners and donors from the United Kingdom.
To implement the initiative, children’s letters to Saint Nicholas were collected, and a list of names and ages was compiled. The coordination of the collection and delivery of the assistance was ensured by the organization’s partners — the Christian Medical Association of Ukraine and the British humanitarian organization Mighty Convoy.

Church communities in the United Kingdom, the sports community, charitable initiatives, and private donors also joined the effort. Among them was Meaningful Chocolate Company, which organized a charitable fundraising campaign among its customers, as well as a volunteer named Jess, who handcrafts knitted toys and warm clothing for children.

As part of the initiative, partners purchased and delivered headphones, sports equipment, footwear, sweets, toys, and other gifts for the children. All assistance was delivered and handed over to the families of service members by Saint Nicholas Day.

Since 2022, the British organization Mighty Convoy has been providing systematic support to Ukraine, including supplying military units with used pickup trucks and ambulances, as well as delivering humanitarian aid. This Christmas initiative complemented their ongoing support for Ukrainian service members and their families.
